TLDR: Carol at the SSM Walk in clinic treats her patients like absolute crap, and deserves an attitude adjustment, so say the very least.
The staff is super nice. I love the nurses but some of the doctors DO NOT CARE
Emergency room is great.
The best part was where she didn't admit to her mistake. I now have to try to explain this to all of my professors without a medical note or excuse.
I got stuck with the same doctor 4 times and she said I was fine. A month and a half later and I magically have a severe medically concerning sinus infection???
I had to have some simple lab work done at the SSM walk in clinic in Maryville MO. This was the second trip I had taken to the walk in clinic, the first of which was perfectly pleasant. The second trip though was a whole different story. I had to call to make sure my orders were sent to the right place (last time they were sent to the hospital by mistake and then faxed to the clinic, not a big deal) and when I finally got through to the lab tech, Carol at the walk in clinic she told me to "go to the hospital." In the rudest tone possible and then promptly hung up on me. After playing phone tag for awhile I was able to get the orders faxed to the walk in clinic. When I arrive at the walk in clinic, I sign in, and am escorted back to the back by the very same rude lab tech, Carol whom I spoke to on the phone earlier who then proceeded to scold me like a child that she had quote "thought I told you to go to the hospital." Carol then stuck the needle to draw blood into my arm like a harpoon and took my blood. Afterward it felt like my whole arm was beaten and bruised. I've never had blood work be so painful. Yes, I understand as well that it isn't always a painless procedure but with this particular lab tech, Carol, I felt the pain was deliberate, a sort of an "I'll teach you a lesson" kind of feeling. But after not being treated like a patient and more like a criminal, I feel as though Carol is reason enough to never step foot in the walk in clinic ever again.
If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Friendly staff and fast service. It was my first time there, and registration went quickly. The nurse came to get me before I even sat down. Efficient staff. The new location is across from the hospital.
